As we have all heard, Microsoft has offered free upgrades from Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 to Windows 10 until July 29th. The question is, should we upgrade? Help Desk Cavalry (HDCav) has been rolling Windows 10 out to clients for most of this year, but what we haven’t been doing is upgrading clients to Windows 10 from previous versions. While the free offering is great, it’s not a reason to upgrade.
If your system is working well with Windows 7 or 8.1, the upgrade savings is not a worthy investment of time. However, if you are looking to purchase a new machine, Windows 10 is a fantastic solution to start with. Windows 10 is a solid platform that shows many improvements over the previous versions and Microsoft’s new programs are fantastic. As a technology company supporting the operating systems that our clients use, we are pleased with the latest version of Windows.
