Island Fitness, now it its 15th year of operation, is Bainbridge Island’s original health club. Owners Michael and Alexa Rosenthal rescued the club in 2002 when it was in danger of closing for good. They dedicated themselves to keeping the business alive back when it was Bainbridge Island’s only health club. Then and now, their mission has been “Bringing strength, flexibility, and balance to our community.” Since the revitalization of Island Fitness 15 years ago they have done just that. Island Fitness is a close knit community of residents dedicated to health, and giving back. Every year Island fitness participates in local events such as fun runs, and donates to youth organizations and other charitable groups.

Sherry Eckert, business manager for Island Fitness said, “It’s more than just a space to work out. Our members come here because it’s an integral part of the community on the Island.” Their fitness programs are continually evolving, with additions like their Ortho-kinetics program, and participation in Silver Sneakers. Sherry stated that Island Fitness will continue to move forward with fitness techniques that provide a tangible benefit to the community members.

Technology is a crucial part of everyday life at Island Fitness. With the number of members bustling in and out of the doors, it’s imperative that their technology work seamlessly. Island Fitness has restructured their infrastructure with the guidance of Help Desk Cavalry, and now sports a new server, phone system, and peace of mind. Fifteen years of data is securely backed up on a stable environment, and the staff can run the club smoothly at any of their many open hours.

Sherry stated that “The transition to working with Help Desk was smooth and easy. I get a great response from the team.” She, and the rest of Island Fitness, enjoy what she called a small town level of customer service. She remarked on how important that level of care was to her, especially when Help Desk came to their location during a technical emergency.
